The People
A hobby farm involves a variety of people. There are the farmers themselves, raising miniature donkeys, growing heirloom fruits and making wine. There are the suppliers, such as hatcheries that supply chicks and apiaries that supply bees; manufacturers of everything from feeding troughs to soil tillers; and consumers of hobby farm products such as goat cheese,
llama wool and fresh eggs.
There are the myriad organizations that provide support and instruction: breeders associations, farm bureaus, cooperatives and others.
And then there are
the regulatory
agencies, from the
EPA to the
Department of
Agriculture.
