The Chicago Mercantile Exchange, founded in 1898 as the Chicago Butter and Egg Board, offered the first futures contract based on frozen, stored meats (frozen pork bellies) and the first futures contract based on a non-storable commodity (live cattle).

following commodities:
butter, milk, feeder cattle, live cattle, frozen pork bellies, lean hogs.
